    1. Matt Brolly Is a well-known author, some of his books are a fascination for readers like in the Dead Lucky book, this is one of the most wanted Matt Brolly author readers around the world.

    2. Dead Lucky is book 2 in the DCI Michael Lambert series by new British author Matt Brolly. I awarded 4.5 stars to book 1 (Dead Eyed), and Dead Lucky is even better! Dead Lucky is a well-constructed police procedural with great characters and fabulous plot. Basically we are looking at a strange series of murders carried out with the same MO. The victims are seemingly disconnected, but are they? There appears to be no motive, but is there? It’s up to DCI Michael Lambert to unravel this web of kil [...]

    3. Wow oh Wow what a read Dead Lucky by Matt Brolly was a real page turner, after reading Dead Eyed I didn't think this one would beat it but it did on so many aspects. I wont go into the plot details as there is to much going on in this novel but lets just say its engrossing to say the least.WE find out a lot more about DCI Michael Lambert what he is dealing with on a personal basis & the way he is dealing with the murder case at hand I think Michael Lambert is developing more & more as we [...]

    4. 4.5★ (rounded up because I really did like it)I have not read #1 in the DCI Lambert series, but I could see by the reviews that Lambert was a fellow worth reading about. Matt Brolly has done a fine job of bringing new readers like me up to speed without belabouring the point. The story is great on its own, well-written, fast-paced, and with characters you can see and empathise with. Not all writers can put it all together as Brolly has. Poor old Lambert. So many of today’s fictional detectiv [...]

    5. Don’t bother reading my review - just go get yourself a copy of this amazing crime-thriller to read instead. When you do, get ready to be totally enthralled and to not want to put it down till you’ve reached the end! This is the second story in the DCI Michael Lambert series. You don’t need to have read the first to enjoy this but both are superbly written, enthralling and so packed with action that, if you enjoy crime thrillers, make them both not to be missed novels. The hero, DCI Michael [...]

    6. Matt brolly has done it again in this, his second DCI Michael Lambert novel.Fast-paced with many twists and turns, we have a killer that seems to know every move that is being made to identify him. He is no ordinary killer. He is a killer with a very twisted MO. Imagine being cuffed to a chair, and watching the person most precious to you being killed in an extremely slow and excruciating manner. Is he targeting those he kills, or those he forces to watch?Brolly has written a winner here. Bring [...]

    7. Recently I had the pleasure of reading Dead Eyed and meeting the rather delightful Michael Lambert. I was practically hyperventilating with excitement to discover Matt Brolly had a brand new Michael Lambert story for us. This is Dead Lucky!Lambert and his new sidekick, Matilda Kennedy are on the case of a cruel brutal killer, termed ‘The Watcher’. A victim is made to watch the slaughter of his or her family. We see Eustace Sackville tied to a chair, watching his wife die a slow painful death [...]

    8. Be aware, difficult to put down once started! I really enjoyed Matt Brolly's second book about DCI Michael Lambert. While not absolutely necessary, I would suggest starting off with Dead Eyed which introduces Lambert's background and some of the other recurring characters. Dead Lucky felt a bit more like a "proper" police procedural compared to Dead Eyed, in which Lambert was quite unconventional. I really enjoyed the way he was working with his team this time, especially DS Matilda Kennedy. Rea [...]

    9. I am always on the lookout for new crime authors to read and I knew that Christine from Northern Crime rated Matt Brolly's first book highly and so I didn't hesitate to request Dead Lucky on NetGalley. Matt Brolly manages to continue DCI Michael Lambert's story for returning readers, but at the same time new readers aren't left completely in the dark and this book also serves well as an introduction to Lambert's character. I'm definitely planning on going back and picking up Dead Eyed.Matt doesn [...]

    10. Elaborately extensiveFirst of all a huge thanks to the author for providing me with a copy of the book and secondly a massive apology and also heartfelt gratitude for being so kind enough to send me the second book even before i had reviewed the first and showing trust in me and for the sheer fact that you have been extremely patient and kind towards me since i am posting this review months and months later In the First book of this series i had written that the author loves details and the book [...]

    11. I loved Dead Eyed and this is a great follow up! And when I finished it, after having been buried in it for two days, all I wanted was more. 4.5 stars.

    12. Having had the pleasure of reviewing Dead Eyed I was absolutely thrilled to have the chance to review Dead Lucky too. Matt Brolly is fast becoming an author I will be following closely for updates and new books, there's word that book three of the DCI Lambert series will be out early 2017 and I for one cannot wait! Having thought that Dead Eyed was a fantastic book, I was slightly hesitant when I started this one, would the curse of the second book befall Brolly? Would this lack what made his d [...]

    13. I received this book as an ARC from the author in exchange for an honest review. As the synopsis states, DCI Lambert is back…and boy was I glad when I received the ARC of the beauty! The first words out of my mouth when I finished this book were Oh-My-Friggin-God — this book ROCKED! Was I surprised? Not really — as when I read Dead Eyed (the debut) I knew DCI Lambert would be one of those series that kept getting betterand it does!Trouble seems to follow DCI Lambert and Dead Lucky was no ex [...]

    14. Note: I received a copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review. Plot: Dead Lucky started off quite nicely, setting up the plot early on and at the same time giving a quick gist of DCI Michael Lambert’s life. The strongest feature of the book is the plot itself, which is typical British police procedural with an interesting plot and engaging characters. DCI Lambert is investigating a series of murders where the victims seeming have no connection at all.I loved the natural [...]

    16. really enjoyable read, well written, excellent plot that keeps you guessing. Will definitely continue with the series

    17. Another great book by Matt Brolly, DCI Michael Lambert leads you through this well thought out story, until you reach the rollercoaster of the end, its a great read with great characters.

    18. Dead Lucky is the follow up novel to Matt Brolly’s Dead Eyed, which was the first book in a series about DCI Michael Lambert, a British police detective with a number of personal demons, and a habit of catching cases involving sadistic serial killers. The killer in this case is nicknamed The Watcher, because he cuts his victims’ wrists, and then forces the victims’ family members to watch the slow death along with him. Some characters from the first book are back in this one, while there ar [...]

    19. Copy provided by the publisher via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. After the phenomenal debut Dead Eyed, another killer read comes from the writing pen of Matt Brolly. This time, we see DCI Michael Lambert facing ever more gripping murders than ever imagined. Whoever has read the first book would know what I am talking about. If you haven't read it, don't worry, Dead Lucky can perfectly stand alone. At first look, it seems that an ordinary burglary went wrong. The police assume that th [...]

    20. I read 'Dead Eyed', the first DCI Lambert book by Matt Brolly last year and I really enjoyed it, so as soon as 'Dead Lucky' was available for download, I couldn't wait to get my teeth into it.This book can be read as a stand alone, however since the Souljacker case, featured in the first book, is referred to numerous times in this book, I would still recommend readers to read 'Dead Eyed' first so that they have a clear picture of what's being referred to.'Dead Lucky' is as gripping as the first [...]

    21. I'm disappointed I left it so long to read this series, and even more disappointed that I didn't read the first book in the series. Luckily there is enough background at the introduction of the book to give the reader a feel for the previous books content. Michael Lambert has had a very horrible time of it and the opening of the book sees his trying to speak with his wife who he is separated from. in addition to his separation he is still struggling to come to terms with the death of his daughte [...]

    22. In Dead Lucky, a particularly nasty killer is on the loose. He not only murders his victims slowly, he makes sure one of their family is forced to witness the killing. The murders seem random but gradually links begin to emerge between them. The killer is dubbed The Watcher by the media as he has clearly been watching his victims and families for some time before he strikes. When Lambert is contacted directly by The Watcher, he realises that his own family may well be at risk too. It's getting v [...]

    23. Dead Lucky:  A DCI Lambert Thrillerby Matt BrollyCarina UKMystery & ThrillersPub Date: January 11, 2016ReviewDead Lucky is a chilling police procedural that keeps the reader on edge until the very end.  It even surpasses Dead Eyed, Matt Brolly’s first DCI Lambert thriller, which is a difficult feat.  These books are not for the faint of heart, the manner of death is disturbing, although it is not portrayed in a gory way.  In Dead Lucky, the victims are forced to watch their loved ones [...]

    24. Having really enjoyed Dead Eyed, Matt Brolly's debut, I had been looking forward to getting a copy of Dead Lucky. However I felt this was a weaker book, and just not as gripping or addictive. The only time I found I was compelled to keep reading without a doubt, was the last 10% where the adrenalin starts pumping, but even then, I found that was only a few pages, and then when out with a bit of a whimper. Unfortunately I found the ending rather abrupt and felt I would have liked some sort of eit [...]

    25. Firstly I would like to thank Netgalley and Carina Publishing for allowing me a free copy of Dead Lucky which, unusually, lives up to the blurb as it is a gripping read which I read in one sitting - it even accompanied me as I ate (much to my husband's disgust, but sorry dear, you couldn't compete). It opens with the thoughts of a man hiding in a house and follows him as he accosts the woman living there. It then cuts to DCI Michael Lambert and some of his personal problems. Only then do we go bac [...]

    26. This is the second book in the DCI Michael Lambert series and the first that I have read. You dont need to have read the first one to enjoy this, and enjoy it I did. I will definatly be buying the first book and anymore that Matt Brolly writes. The Blurb from "A fast-paced crime-thriller, full of chilling twists, turns and grisly surprises, Matt Brolly’s Dead Lucky will have you gripped from beginning to end!DCI Michael Lambert is back…When a woman is murdered, the twisted killer forcing her [...]

    27. I would like to thank NetGalley and Carina Publishing UK for giving me the opportunity to read this in exchange for an honest and open review.I read and loved Matt Brolly's debut novel "Dead Eyed" in September. Therefore I was super excited to be approved for his second novel "Dead Lucky" and I certainly wasn't disappointed.A woman is murdered and her husband is forced to watch. When a second set of killings occur with the same MO DCI Michael Lambert and his team are on the case. This is one of t [...]

    28. I didn't think this was quite as good as the first book (which was outstanding) but still a deserving 4 stars. Lambert is back at work officially and is tasked with solving a gruesome but apparently simple murder. An old journalist has been tied up and forced to watch his wife bleed out after having her wrists slashed (relax - it doesn't go into gruesome detail about this). Leads are sparse. Another similar killing complicates things as the victims appear to have nothing in common. The killer tau [...]

    29. This is the second outing for police detective Michael Lambert - another sadistic murderer is doing dastardly things and Michael and his team are on the trail, but this villain is one step ahead all the time. I liked most of the characters, Michael is still enigmatic and his wife is still irritating! The book was a page turner with a great plot, but I just didn't like how it ended, just out of nowhere, no explanations. We will just have to hope there will be a third book in the series so that we [...]
