Jamila Hammad was born in Colombia, of a Palestinian father and a Colombian mother She grew up in the United States and is married to Bob, who was born in Canada of a Greek Father Their families are spread out across the globe, and if they were all to gather in one place, there would be conversations in English, Spanish, Arabic and Greek Jamila abandoned a career in Marketing in favor of a creative life She and Bob live on St Croix, U.S Virgin Islands, where she is inspired by, and creates art honoring the Spirit of the Sea.
