    1. David Yates grew up in Vero Beach and West Palm Beach, Florida and graduated from Forest Hill High School He is a Vietnam veteran, graduated from Louisiana State University with a BS degree, and has worked extensively in the construction and elder care fields He is a pioneer in the development of intergenerational care structured programs with preschool children and dependent elders within the same building with centers in Northern and Southern California, Colorado and Connecticut He is currently retired and living in Ventura, California.

    2. Books such as these are popular with my students. Anyone who has read Owen & Mzee or Winter's Tale will be pleased to learn the rest of Winter's story. Rescued and eventually provided with a prosthetic tale, Winter enjoyed living in the Clearwater Marine Aquarium with an older dolphin named Panama. But Panama was growing older, and their caretakers worried that Winter would become depressed without a dolphin companion. Fortuitously, an ailing baby dolphin in need of rescue was brought to the [...]

    3. "Hope for Winter" follows the rescued dolphin name Hope as she is rescued and recovers from her injuries at the Clearwater Marine Aquarium. She is introduced to Winter- a dolphin famous for her prosthetic tail- and her companion Panama. After Panama dies, Hope forms a lasing bond with Winter and they both thrive today. This realistic non-fiction book is filled with colorful photographs that the young and old reader will enjoy. The book follows the survival of Hope, a rescued dolphin and her bond [...]

    4. This is a story about two dolphins with an amazing bond between them. It is a about friendship and bravery. The two dolphins are Hope and Winter. They were rescued exactly five years and one day apart from each other. I think this true story is for kids ages 5-7. It teaches that there is always hope no matter what happens. It also teaches that you should never give up just like Hope and Winter. I read this book to my little sister and she thinks that the dolphins were brave while trying to survi [...]

    5. Dolphin rescuers are a remarkable bunch! While celebrating the end of filming Dolphin Tale, about rescued dolphin Winter, with cast and crew, they received a call about another baby dolphin in distress. The rescuers, veterinarians, trainers and volunteers, immediately began preparations. Would the new arrival survive? Would she accept the older dolphins as friends? This book is filled with colorful photos and easy to read text.

    6. Ideally, situations like this would be the only ones in which we would keep dolphins captive, that is, when the animal has to be rescued because of orphaning or an injury and cannot be released back into the wild. It is sad that these dolphins must live in the typical concrete tanks of marine parks, it's a shame a sea pen or some similar option couldn't be found for these sensitive and amazing creatures.

    7. Lots of tension in the beginning as rescuers race to save Hope from impending death by dehydration. Once her health was recovered, Hope was smoothly introduced to the dolphins, unlike how this occurred in the second Winter's Tale movie. Fans of Winter, and all dolphins, will be pleased with this book. Love this writing team and their animal friendship books.

    8. This simply told story of a dolphin rescued coincidentally near the same place another famous rescue took place should please middle grade readers who enjoy animal rescue stories. The full-color photographs really are the stars here. Well, the dolphins are cute too. There's always room on the shelf for these uplifting books.

    9. With the movie coming out, this story is hot right now. As always, the Hatkoffs do a remarkable job of humanizing animals. One thing you take away from this book: there are times when it is better for an animal to live in a confined space (like an aquarium). It's not always about freeing Willy.

    10. Another great addition to this series (Owen & Mzee, Knut, Looking for Miza, Leo the Snow Leopard, Winter's Tail) about a rescued orphan dolphin who becomes a friend for Winter, the dolphin with a prosthetic tail.

    11. I loved Hope For Winter. It's s o cute how they both ended up in the same place. But sad that there grandmother died but amazing how they still hung out with each other

    12. My kids are obsessed with the story of Winter the dolphin! We've watched both Dolphin Tale movies, and now we're reading about Winter and her friends. Great kids' non-fiction!

    13. I love true stories about animal rescues and animal friendships, and this beautifully photographed book is no exception. It is a great companion to the movie, Dolphin Tale 2.

    14. Children will enjoy the story of Hope and Winter, two dolphins that live at the Clearwater Marine Aquarium.

    15. Tells about the rescue of a baby dolphin and her introduction to Winter a previously rescued dolphin with a prosthetic tail.

    16. Cute story about two dolphins who were both rescued as babies. They formed a wonderful friendship with each other.
